Emma began publishing Essentially Local over 11 years ago with the aim of connecting all things local. She developed her skills from her work in the commerical, health and charity business sectors.  This has included preparing business and marketing plans to writing website content, advertising campaigns and flyers.  She has also set up exhibitions and sales conferences as well as participating in research programmes.

Andrew has been designing for Essentially Local for over 3 years as a consequence of a chance meeting at a networking group. Just like Emma, he supports the benefits in keeping business local.  He has worked in a range of sectors and in a variety of design disciplines.  His eye-catching and consistent designs have helped to take Essentially Local to the next level.

Gitte Norgaard – Finance Manager

Gitte is a trained accountant and loves numbers! Emma met her after she started advertising with Essentially Local. Then not long after this they began sharing workspace and soon after this Gitte was employed to ensure the accounts the run smoothly.  Not only are they are friends they also love to work together.

sheilaSheila Harvey – Proofing and Writing

Sheila Harvey and first met Emma on the Wolverton Road allotments in Stony Stratford where they shared gardening tips. Ever since Sheila let slip that she had a background in magazine editing, she has been a valuable member of the team. A mutual sense of humour has made sure they always hit the deadline.


SueSue Gagg – Assistant Editor

Sue is a professionally qualified marketer with roles in the public and private sectors.  She brings a range of skills that includes copywriting, editing and proofreading for print and the web. Not only that, she offers a depth of knowledge about the tried and tested ways for a small businesses to grow.


Julie-Ann Hammond – Website Content Manager

Julie-Ann is an expert in website content management.  Many of the exciting local websites have developed because of her skills and dedication. Customers receive useful advice and help to achieve cost effective solutions to being found easily on the internet.
