LGBT adoption and fostering week
Alison Miller, CEO of St Francis’ Children’s Society will be joined by same-sex adopters who will share their experiences of adopting children into their respective families. The event will certainly be a great opportunity to learn a little about adopting and the process of adoption. You’ll also be able to hear directly from couples who have been through it all before. There will also be an opportunity to speak with representatives from St Francis’ Children’s Society if you would like to know more about how to become an adopter.
This event is open to all, irrespective of family make-up, sexual orientation or gender identity. Please come along and support RoundabOUT and St Francis’ Children’s Society. The event promises to be a fascinating discussion about families. In addition, another reason to attend is the delicious hot bowl food!
RoundabOUT is a network for LGBT+ professionals in and around Milton Keynes. Eight local organisations founded it – Barclaycard, Bupa, Dentons, Mazars, Network Rail, PwC, Sainsbury’s/Argos and Santander. The network is open to and welcomes everyone, irrespective of sexual orientation and/or gender identity. It aims to inspire diversity and inclusion in Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas and to help put the region on the map as a great place to work for members of the LGBT+ community and their allies.
St. Francis’ Children’s Society
St. Francis’ Children’s Society is an independent adoption charity especially committed to finding families for children who wait longest in the care system before finding adoptive families. They welcome and encourage individuals from all walks of life to consider adoption. Adoption today is not about finding homes for babies, but rather finding families for children of a range of ages with complex needs. Significantly, around 2,000 children are waiting for an adoption in the UK at anyone time. St. Francis’ Children’s Society believe that every child deserves a warm, loving family and a happy childhood.
