Congratulations to the dancing artists who entered the Soul 2 Sole Dancewear Pointe Shoe Competition.
The imagination of these young artists was incredible. Ideas, from the winning ladybird to equally stunning designs that included solar systems and sparkly shoes, came flooding in. Artists entered The Pointe Shoe Competition and turned unusable shoes into pieces of art while raising money.
The Pointe Shoe Competition raised money for the charity, Supershoes. Supershoes is a volunteer-led organisation which paints unique shoes for children with a diagnosis of cancer. The shoes aim to give the child strength, restore confidence and in addition, make her/him feel special. Ken and Sarah White, set up Supershoes in October 2013 after reading about an incredibly brave four- year-old boy called Henry Allen. Henry was fighting Neuroblastoma, a particularly aggressive cancer which affects mostly the under-fives. They decided on a pair of customised shoes, they named them Supershoes.
As a consequence of the first pair of shoes, Ken and Sarah could see the benefits. At the same time, they decided to take requests for special customised Supershoes from parents throughout the UK for their poorly children. An incredible team of 200 talented artists design the shoes alongside volunteers who help in the office and, of course the essential sponsors.
