Warm summer evenings with the last of the day’s rays as you relax with a cool pint or sparkling Prosecco … just one of the many options you can enjoy this summer at the Old Talbot in Potterspury.
These new delights are thanks to Cheryl and her team who are working to make The Old Talbot the hub of the local community. This motivated young manager wants to show everyone how welcoming a local pub can be.
She is constantly thinking of innovative ways to satisfy beer and wine lovers, as well as those who are looking for music and food. As the mother of a young child, Cheryl is only too aware how important it is to include the whole family. She has already taken steps towards creating a safe and welcoming environment at the Old Talbot, both inside and outside.
The once overlooked garden is now a welcoming area that is safe for the whole family. Umbrellas at each table will protect you from the sun, while your children can enjoy the updated play equipment. With a new fence surrounding the garden you can relax, knowing they won’t be able to wander too far away.
Music is central to what is on offer at this lovely country pub and it’s going from strength to strength. Cheryl aims to bring a wide selection of music styles, from Jazz to acoustic, folk, modern and more. There are plans to take the music outside – and she’ll choose these bands carefully as she wants her neighbours to enjoy the sounds as much as her customers. If that is not enough, you can also enjoy Bingo evenings and soon artists will get a look in too.
Head Chef Wendy is passionate about the quality and type of dishes she provides. She has been working
on a new menu that includes traditional dishes along with updated twists. Central to all she produces is her desire to use fresh ingredients and cooking to order. While you may wait a little longer, you can sit back and relax, confident that Wendy knows exactly what has gone into your meal, whether it is a juicy beefburger or the tomato and basil pasta sauce.
Wendy already offers pensioners a special deal once a week and she is planning more exciting options for everyone, including a great range of breakfasts at the weekend, plus freshly cooked pizza. Wendy wants everyone to enjoy her cooking – and this is reflected in the prices, quality and presentation.
