In spring, wasps can be a gardener’s friend, eating harmful pests; just now however, they can be a real nuisance, especially around children. Quite sophisticated creatures, if wasps sense a threat – when we flap at them for instance – they release a chemical which summons other wasps in the area to their aid.

If you have fruit trees and bushes, remove any fallen fruit that might attract wasps and if eating outside, try diverting them with a spoonful of jam in a jam jar away from your meal. If you have spotted or suspect a wasps’ nest near your home, don’t try to tackle it yourself. Wasp stings can cause a nasty reaction, so send for the experts. All Green will send trained experts to deal with the problem quickly and efficiently.
