As can be seen here, Mothers are really loved. We think the Whitehouse Primary School have come up with some lovely thoughts about mums. What do you think>
The Mum Way
Mums are the most important things in the world because, without them, you wouldn’t be here. They love you more than anything in the world. They are the ones who cook you dinner and the ones who are there for you when you cry. So, Mother’s Day is the day to celebrate your mum for all the good things they have done for you. They might make you feel embarrassed sometimes, but they just want to care for you! If you are lucky to have an amazing mum – show her how much you appreciate her.
Quotes about Mothers or Simply for Children
From Matilda by Roald Dahl
‘It’s a funny thing about mothers… Even when their own child is the most disgusting little blister you could ever imagine, they still think that he or she is wonderful.’
From Peter Pan
‘Can anything harm us, mother, after the night-lights are lit?’‘Nothing, precious,’ she said; ‘they are the eyes a mother leaves behind her to guard her children.’
From Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone
‘He didn’t realise that love as powerful as your Mother’s for you leaves its own mark.’
From Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak
‘And Max, the king of all wild things, was lonely and wanted to be where someone loved him best of all.’
Things to Make your Mum Smile
- pick flowers for her and make a flower necklace. (pick them from somewhere you are allowed to.)
- make breakfast in bed for her (with adult supervision).
- make her a card – mums love homemade gifts.
- write a poem about her.
- watch her favourite film with her.
- leave lots of lovely notes around the house for her to find.
- let her relax while do the housework.
- cook her a special meal.
- give her a warm hug.
- tell her that you love her.
